An introduction

Hey people! I've decided to take a journey and write a poem every day for the next year. While it isn't actually next year yet, here are some of my old poems. I have a ton of them, so I'll only post a few, and then maybe post one from time to time with a new poem. Here you go! :)

Heather
heather spots the moor
like errant drops of purple paint
wind meanders by
and even the green seems to glow
as the sun sinks
below heathered hills and tattered skies
night is sweet here, rife with
precious moments
like fireflies
illuminating your existence
then winking out.
darkness

Snowflake
Snowflake, icy constellation
Captured, midair spiral halted
Dies a steamy death upon my tongue.

300
stones stepped
lead to paths worn
to windows shine yellow at dusk.

the horses are pastured,
boat moored,
ducks free,
(they are ducks, after all)
and the trees are flowering.

stone steps lead to a blue door
suggesting fresh pie
warm coffee
and comfy chairs

as hearts shine yellow at dusk.

Autumn Wind
I am insubstantial.

Forced into silence-
            overwhelmed.

Forlorn omen,
whistling in empty houses;
unties my scarf with long-leafed hands,
rummages in my pockets for loose change,

  bites right through me.

then brings rain
to fill the void.

Not much of a chicken
these elbows juxtapose
my little hands
but the chick i hold
calls me mother.

Dusty Curves
It lies there.
(I've practiced)
fact is,
she can’t reply
when i say
I can’t try.
you see,
dusty curves seduce
arthritic hands
too crumpled
to wipe the dust clean

War
amidst camoflauge
body dilated

gun clenched
body tremors

feels the unseen scars of war

forming
